I AM

hi,
T
he words "I am..."are potent words;be careful what you hitch them to.The thing you're claiming has a way of reaching back and claiming

I am an architect: I've built a solid foundation;and each year I go to that school I add another floor of wisdom and knowledge.

I am a sculptor:I've shaped my morals and philosophies according to the clay of right and wrong.

I am a painter:With each new idea I express,I paint a new hue in the world's multitude of colors.

I am a scientist: Each day that passes by,I gather new data, make important observations, and experiment with new concepts and ideas.

I am an astrologist: Reading and analyzing the palms of life and each new person I encounter.

I am an astronaut: Constantly exploring and broadening my horizons.

I am a doctor: I heal those who turn to me for consultation and advice and i bring out the vitality in those who seems lifeless.

I am a lawyer:I'm not afraid to stand up for the inevitable and basic rights of myself and all others.

I am a police officer: I always watch out for others welfare and I am always on the scene preventing fights and keeping the peace.

I am a teacher: By my example others learn the importance of determination, dedication and hard work.

I am a mathematician: Making sure I conquer each one of my problem with correct solutions.

I am a detective: Peering through my two lenses, searching for meaning and significance in the mysteries of life.

I am a hockey player: Watching out for dodging those who try to block my goal.

I am a marathon runner: Full of energy, always moving and ready for the next challenge.

I am a mountain climber: Slowly but surely I am making my way to the top.

EVERY ONE CAN BE A PUBLISHER

hi,
OK,the Internet is not going to turn you into Rupert Murdoch overnight, but the ability for everyone to publish their thoughts online is a tremendous change.Publishing used to be concentrated in the hands of a few wealthy people and organization that could afford the expensive infrastructure to print and distribute newspaper, magazines or books. Now everyone can do so for free through personal websites or,more likely these days,by joining the blogging phenomenon(blog is a new word derived from the web log).try blogger.com or geeklog.com for a taste of blog power or even to set up your own.How you make people read your blog, however,is a different question...

MY NEW BEST FRIEND

Today I met a great new friend
Who knew me right away
It was funny how she understood
All I had to say

She listened to my problems
She listened to my dreams
we talked about love and life
She'd been there,too,it seems

I never once felt judged by her
She knew just how I felt
She seemed to just accept me
And all the problems I'd been dealt

She didn't interrupt me
Or need to have her say
She just listened very patiently
And didn't go away

I wanted her to understand
How much this meant to me
But as I went to hug her
Something startled me

I put my arms in front of me
And went to pull her nearer
And realized that my new best friend
Was nothing but a mirror

CHEAP,NEAR-INSTANT COMMUNICATION

hi,
TO those who have grown up in the era of the ubiquitous @ symbol,it's easy to take e-mail for granted, but the ability to flash message around the globe with documents, images or applications attached is revolutionary.Of course, with e-mail you cannot ignore the pernicious activities of the spammers and the inconvenience of having an inbox flooded with offers of cheap drugs and penis-enlargement techniques. With a few simple precautions-such as not leaving your e-mail address strewn all over the Internet and employing a reliable spam screening program you should be able to reduce the spam problem to a mere irritation and get the most out of this incredible communication channel.....

Turning Up Your Light

Hi guys....I came across a story "Turning Up Your Light":-) it sure did turn on my mind's light.Read on to see what it does to yours...:-);-)
More than three decades ago,I was a sophomore at a large high school in southern california. The student body of 3200 was a melting pot of ethnic difference. The environment was tough.Knives, pipes, chains, brass knuckles and an occasional zip gun were commonplace.Fights and gang activity were weekly events.
After a football game in the fall of 1959,left the bleachers with my girlfriend. As we walked down the crowded sidewalk, someone kicked me from behind.Turning around , discovered the local gang, armed with brass knuckles. The first blow of the unprovoked attack immediately broke my nose, one of several bones to be broken in the ponding.Fists came from every direction as the 15 gang members surrounded me.More injures.A brain concussion.Internal bleeding.Eventually,I had to have surgery. My doctor told me that if had been hit in the head one more time, probably would have died.Fortunately, they did not harm my girlfriend.
After I recovered medically, some friends approached me and said,"Let's go get those guys!"That was the way problems were "resolved". After being attacked, evening the score became a priority.A art of me said,"Yes!"The sweet taste of revenge was clearly an option.
But another part of me paused and said no.Revenge did not work.Clearly, history had demonstrated time and again that reprisal only accelerates and intensifies conflict. We needed to do something differently to break the counterproductive chain of events.
Working with various ethnics groups,we put together what we called a "Brotherhood Committee"to work on enhancing racial relationship.i was amazed to learn how much interest fellow students had in building a brighter future. Not all bought in to doing things differently. While small numbers of students, faculty and parents actively resisted these cross-cultural exchanges, more and more individuals joined in on the effort to make a positive difference.
Two years later,I ran for students body president.Even though ran against two friends, one a football hero and the other a popular "big man on campus," a significant majority of the 3,200 students joined me in the process of doing things differently.i will not claim that the raical problems were fully resolved. We did, however, make significant progress on bolding bridges between cultures, learning how to talk with and relate to different ethnic groups, resolving differences without resorting to violence and learning how to build trust in the most difficult of circumstances.it's amazing what happens when people are on speaking terms with one another!
Being attacked by the gang those many years ago was clearly one of my toughest life moments. What learned, however, about responding with love rather than returning hate has been a powerful force in my life.Turning up our light in the presence of those whose lights is dim becomes the difference that makes the difference.
